Job Family Group:Research & Technology GroupJob Description:About the RoleWe are looking for a curious and innovative Legal Technology & Innovation Analyst to help transform how legal services are delivered across the business. Working at the intersection of Legal, Operations, and Technology, you will find opportunities to improve processes, enhance productivity, and deliver value through technology, automation, data, and AI.You will help design, configure, implement, and support legal technology solutions while driving adoption and continuous improvement across the legal function.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Solution DesignPartner with Legal, Legal Operations, and Technology teams to understand challenges and find opportunities for improvement.Facilitate workshops and gather requirements to design scalable, user-focused solutions.Translate business needs into practical technology-enabled outcomes.Technology & Innovation DeliveryDesign, configure, test, and support legal technology solutions, including: Document automation Workflow automation Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Matter and document management systems AI and productivity tools Low-code/no-code platformsSupport innovation initiatives, pilots, proof-of-concepts, and process improvement projects.Adoption & Continuous ImprovementDrive successful adoption of new technologies through training, communications, and user support.Find opportunities to streamline processes and enhance user experience.Stay informed of emerging LegalTech and AI trends and recommend improvements.Data, Governance & QualityUse data and insights to measure adoption, performance, and business value.Support testing, quality assurance, and release activities.Ensure solutions align with security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements.Maintain documentation, playbooks, and operating procedures.Skills & ExperienceEssentialKnowledge of legal technology, workflow automation, digital transformation, or process improvement.Understanding of technologies such as document automation, CLM, workflow platforms, legal AI tools, or low-code/no-code solutions.Interest in AI, automation, and innovation, including Generative AI and emerging technologies.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.Experience gathering requirements, improving processes, or supporting technology implementations.Ability to work multi-functionally across business and technical teams.DesirableExperience or exposure to:CLM, document management, or matter management platforms.Document automation tools such as Contract Express, Litera, HotDocs, Definely, or Docassemble.Microsoft Power Platform, BRYTER, Onit, or similar workflow tools.Legal AI platforms such as Copilot, Harvey, Claude, Legora, Luminance, or Wordsmith.Basic technical skills including Python, JavaScript, SQL, or data analytics.Process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.Legal Operations, law firm, in-house legal, or LegalTech environments.Relevant certifications in LegalTech, Business Analysis, Project Management, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.What Success Looks LikeA passion for innovation and continuous improvement.A customer-focused mentality with an aim to solve problems.Curiosity about technology and emerging AI capabilities.The ability to influence change and bring stakeholders on the journey.A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for learning new tools and ways of working.Why join us?At bp, we support our people to grow in a diverse and exciting environment.
