Castrol is looking for a Global Industrial & Commercial Vehicle Senior Product Manager to lead a newly formed global Product Management team within Castrol’s Global Marketing organisation. This is a marketing leadership role with a strong technical product management focus. The mandate is clear: bring focus to the Industrial and Commercial Vehicle product portfolio, strengthen category strategy, manage product lifecycles, lead product related marketing activities, and build a robust five-year innovation pipeline.

You will be accountable for a globally distributed team of Product Managers who develop and implement Industrial and Commercial Vehicle product category strategies. The portfolio is broad and technically varied. It includes industrial lubricants, commercial vehicle engine oils, heavy-duty engine oils, truck fluids, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, greases, metalworking fluids, and specialist industrial applications.

Reporting to the Head of Business Mobility & Industrial Solutions, Downstream Castrol - Global Marketing, you will work closely with Technology, Sales, Pricing, OEM liaison, offer, brand, regional, and country teams. The goal is to ensure Castrol’s product portfolio is focused, profitable, differentiated, and aligned to growth priorities.

This role is best suited to candidates who have managed physical product portfolios in technical B2B environments. Experience in Industrial, Commercial Vehicle, lubricants, automotive, energy, chemicals, manufacturing, or adjacent technical product categories would be highly relevant. Exact sector experience is helpful, but the core requirement is strong product portfolio leadership, product development experience, innovation pipeline delivery, customer insight, and the ability to lead through a global matrix.

Central London, United Kingdom is the primary location for this role. We may consider other Global locations for highly qualified candidates, subject to business requirements. We offer a hybrid working model and may require some international travel across global operations.

You Will Be Accountable For:

  • Leading the overall product category strategy for Industrial and Commercial Vehicle, aligned with the agreed strategy, annual plan, brand priorities, and growth objectives.
  • Developing and applying a solid understanding of industry trends, customer needs, competitor activity, technical developments, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics to inform marketing plans, business development opportunities, and targeted product development.
  • Monitoring and handling product positioning, lifecycle performance, portfolio complexity, and rationalisation across the Industrial and Commercial Vehicle product range.
  • Leading and developing a robust multi-year innovation pipeline that underpins strategic and brand goals, guides technology strategy, and supports a differentiated, growing product portfolio.
  • Partnering with Technology and the OEM liaison team to ensure the innovation pipeline is jointly developed, technically robust, commercially relevant, and supported by OEM approvals where required.
  • Working closely with offer, brand, activation, regional, and country teams to ensure a clear and connected activity set underpinned by Castrol’s products and services.
  • Supporting brand activation and portfolio activities, especially relating to power brands including CRB and Vecton.
  • Coordinating country product portfolio management and strategy, ensuring local decisions align with global category direction, business priorities, pricing frameworks, and agreed product management processes.
  • Agreeing product pricing strategy and interventions with the Strategic Pricing Manager, working within the pricing framework established for each business and brand.
  • Ensuring adherence to Castrol ODI, stage-gate, and OMS product management processes.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team of Product Managers, while playing a leadership role in building marketing and product management capability across the Lubricants business.

Skills, Experience and Leadership Profile:

  • Significant B2B marketing and product management experience, ideally in product management, category management, portfolio management, product marketing, offer management, or commercial roles.
  • Experience managing physical product portfolios in a technical product environment.
  • Experience developing marketing, product and category strategies that support growth, portfolio performance, customer needs, customer value propositions, and commercial objectives.
  • Ability to work closely with Sales to optimise category performance and translate product strategy into market and customer impact.
  • Proven ability to manage product lifecycles, product development processes, innovation pipelines, product set-up requirements, and portfolio governance.
  • Ability to apply customer insight, technical trends, market intelligence, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to product strategy and decision-making.
  • Experience managing ODI, stage-gate, or similar product development and innovation governance processes.
  • Strong brand management capability, with experience connecting product strategy, portfolio decisions, brand priorities, and customer-facing activation.
  • Ability to identify opportunities across the digital landscape, including how digital tools, services, data, or customer experiences can support differentiated offers and portfolio growth.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to simplify complex product, market, technical, and commercial information into clear priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work across Marketing, Sales, Technology, Pricing, OEM liaison, regional teams, and country stakeholders.
  • Strong coaching capability, with a track record of developing marketing managers, product managers, project teams, or cross-functional talent.
  • Experience leading teams, project groups, or cross-functional work through direct line management, indirect leadership, coaching, or influence.
  • University degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. A further business qualification would be helpful.
