The Workplace team are accountable for managing the end‑to‑end property lifecycle for bp’s corporate office portfolio. Operating in over 50 countries and more than 100 diverse locations, the team is central to the transformation of the workplace experience and the associated services. Key Accountabilities
- Global subject matter expert on capital projects, design processes and delivery to strategically enhance financial and non‑financial value that meets business objectives.
- Interact with global and regional customers to develop and then deliver the annual capital frame spend of up to $250m in a consistent manner, leading proactive risk identification, scenario planning, and mitigation strategies.
- Develop future leaders, implement succession planning, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the dispersed team of project and design managers.
- Ensure that our design philosophy, standards and product frameworks evolve in line with changing business needs, optimising space utilisation, enhancing employee engagement, productivity, safety and sustainability.
- Improve standards, processes, tools and targets to drive continuous improvement in the project lifecycle using industry standards and lessons learned from past project reviews.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships and performance with key suppliers to create long‑term value and deep understanding of bp standards and culture.
- Uphold governance, assurance and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to bp’s operating procedures, risk protocols and HSSE requirements.
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to the GPMO on project pipeline, timeline, budget status and risk status/mitigations.
Essential Education and Experience
- A minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
- Relevant industry professional qualification (PMP or APM).
- Professional certifications, Member of RICS (MRICS) or Fellow of RICS (FRICS), preferred.
- Significant years of experience delivering global capital projects and designs across multiple countries and cultures, with a track record of managing budgets ranging from $50,000 to $250 million.
- Proven experience in a similar client‑side role within a workplace organisation, with global exposure and strong cultural awareness to manage and motivate a dispersed team and set a strategic vision.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction industry standards, building codes and best‑in‑class practices, with the ability to apply them across diverse project contexts.
- Strong experience supporting design visioning in large projects that reinforce bp’s brand, culture and employee experience, ensuring delivery aligns with business requirements and industry standards.
- Strong experience managing technical due diligence on upcoming projects, ensuring relevant stakeholders participate and leverage outcomes in lease negotiations.
- Holistic understanding of the full workplace lifecycle, with a passion for identifying dependencies among project functions, solving complexities and aligning governance with business priorities.
