Role Summary:
The purpose of the role is to lead and support the Commercial Operations Specialists deployed on the hub to co-ordinate and manage the day-to-day production, nomination, and exports of hydrocarbons from the Tortue development in compliance with the respective agreements (FLNG Lease and Operate Agreement, LNG SPA, Seller Group Representative Agreement, Condensate Lifting Agreement and Domestic Gas Sales Agreements).
The incumbent will be required to liaise directly with multiple internal and external parties including the bp Operations, Subsurface and Marine teams, the FLNG Terminal Operator (Golar), bp Gas Marketing, Partners, various government agencies and other third Parties. Diplomacy, good communication skills and discretion are key behavioural requirements required to operate successfully within this role along with a an conscientious and rigorous approach to managing both technical and commercially critical activities.
The position long term is based in the Production Unit in Sunbury during normal office hours but with a requirement to intermittently provide support from both a commercial and operational perspective out of “normal” working hours.
Key Accountabilities:
Duties will include but are not limited to:

Leadership of the deployed Commercial Operations Specialists Team.

Coordinate requirements under the Seller Group Representative Agreement and act as Seller Group Representative to execute instructions on behalf of the Commercial Committee.

Ensure effective, timely and efficient administration of the contractual and communication requirements under the commercial agreements.

Management of coordination of the forecasting processes and responding to contractual notices relating to these processes.

Management of unplanned and planned shutdown communications/notifications.

Work with the bp Operations, Subsurface, Marine teams and Golar regarding changes required to meet and where required mitigate, issues related to delivery of the Annual and Specific Delivery Plans under the LNG SPA.

Ensure compliance with L&OA, SPA, DOM Gas and Condensate Lifting Agreement specification requirements and monitor delivery compliance.

Invoice validation (LNG) and claims management (demurrage, off spec, quality, quantity, take or pay, deliver, or pay).
Interdependencies
The Business Manager owns the major decision, dispute, and plan communications processes. The Senior Sales Operations Specialist will be required to work closely with the Business Manager to ensure that short term and long-term obligations/interdependencies are managed appropriately.
Hydrocarbon Accountants will be deployed in both Mauritania and Senegal. The Senior Sales Operations Specialist will be required to work closely with the Hydrocarbon Accountants to ensure compliance with the respective Production Sharing Agreements and Unit Operating Agreement.
Education, Experience and Job Requirements:

A degree in finance, business and engineering is preferred.

Significant experience in Commercial Operations.

Demonstrated experience in managing commercial agreements and obligations particularly in Gas transportation and processing and LNG/Condensate export.

Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.

Commercial experience in gas value chains.

Ability to operationalize commercial structures.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Self-starter with a strong performance bias and the ability to operate independently without close supervision.

Proven interpersonal, communication, influencing and team working skills.
