Join our Castrol team as Marine Sales Senior Manager, Northern Europe & Americas! This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.

The Marine Sales Senior Manager is responsible for leading the regional marine sales organization, covering both direct and indirect channels. This role ensures the achievement of sales and profitability targets by developing and implementing integrated commercial strategies, driving business growth, and fostering strong relationships with customers and partners. The role acts as a key member of the Global Marine and Energy (GME) leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and sustainable success of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the GME business leadership team, driving initiatives that enable optimal profitability and sustainable growth for the overall business.
  • Develop and implement the regional marine sales strategy, integrating both direct and indirect channels to enhance profitable growth of premium brands and services.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners, ensuring the voice of the customer is central to offer design and customer experience.
  • Oversee the identification, engagement, and development of both existing and potential accounts and partners, enhancing value creation for all parties.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of GME strategies by embedding strategic objectives and landmarks into actionable channel and regional plans.
  • Manage business performance, including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and delivery of financial targets (volume, turnover, margin, receivables).
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to align on strategic and financial priorities, securing necessary approvals and resources.
  • Represent the region in global forums, ensuring appropriate advocacy and alignment with broader lubricants business and functional stakeholders.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Significant experience in commercial leadership roles within international and multicultural environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing both direct and indirect sales channels.
  • Experience of managing team across a large geographic footprint, with diverse businesses is a must. Wider general management and cross cultural experience would be a significant benefit.
  • Advanced communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Knowledge & Skills Required
  • Deep knowledge of the marine sector, market dynamics, customer segments, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven ability to define, communicate, and implement integrated commercial strategies.
  • Experience in developing high-performing, diverse teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills at all levels.
