Entity: Customers & ProductsJob Family Group: Procurement & Supply Chain Management GroupJob Description: As the Global Additives Procurement Senior Manager, you’ll shape and drive the sourcing strategy for industrial additives across bp’s global operations. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where strategic thinking meets real-world execution. You’ll work at the intersection of innovation, supplier collaboration, and commercial excellence—navigating complex challenges, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering value that powers Castrol’s performance.The role is a highly dynamic role with a mix of short-term deliverables and longer-term strategic intent. It is global in nature with many key markets and stakeholders out of region. Senior stakeholders need to be engaged e.g., VP of Marketing, VP of Supply Chain, Technology and Head of Countries.Reporting to the Head of Procurement, Global Additives you will have the following areas of ownership:Lead Industrial Strategy: Approve and communicate sector sourcing strategies for Industrial additives and ultimately sign off supplier selection.Compliance: Lead compliance with all relevant external laws and regulations e.g., International Trade Sanctions and internal bp requirements and processes e.g., HSSE, counter party due diligence etc.Contracting: Lead a high degree of contract coverage for relevant sectors and that contracts are robust to serve the business including supply security e.g., cyber, force-majeure and compensation clauses.Value: Drive the procuring team to create value for the business e.g., maximising cost of goods savings both sustainable and non-sustainable, ensuring supply continuity via sourcing strategy and contracts and handling complex negotiations where required.Team Leader: Leads the team in a professional manner and leads by example. Develops the team’s capability and competencies to maximise value for the business. Energises the team to put safety, winning and care at the heart of everything we do.Supplier Management: Lead the management of suppliers relating to the sectors including the relationship with the suppliers.Working closely with technology, marketing and the business develop governance frameworks to ensure collaboration with the suppliers to develop the right products at the lowest cost.Drive efficiencies and performance improvement at the suppliers and where necessary lead on the remuneration to bp where a supplier has failed to meet their contractual duties e.g., supply or quality incidents.Create competition between suppliers to maximise value to bp.Stakeholder Management: Lead the engagement and alignment of key decisions with senior stakeholders in the Industrial businesses including Marketing, Sales, Technology & Supply Chain etc.Engage wider bp functions including finance procurement, global product stewardship, logistics, safety, and quality teams as the need arises.Market Insights: Proactively bring market insights and competitive intelligence into the businesses to keep them informed and up to date on the wider market.For the role, we will require:Deep work experience in a relevant commercial discipline including experience of negotiating, stakeholder and supplier management, strong communications, diplomatic and managerial skills.Skills & CompetenciesGlobal sourcing category strategy development driven by data and communicating / gaining alignment with snr stakeholders. Can work hand in hand with the business and stakeholders and uses business insights to inform strategy and decision-making while also bringing supply and market insights back to the business.Negotiation – Is capable of developing negotiation strategies and target outcomes for challenging situations consulting business stakeholders, and other subject matter experts. Reviews negotiation strategies produced by others, providing insights and suggested improvements. Can lead a team of skilled negotiators in complex multi-faceted commercial engagements with external parties.Identifies innovative contracting strategies and mechanisms for large, complex, global contracts that drive contract performance and mitigates risk. Demonstrates deep contracting knowledge in relevant categories. Fully engages business stakeholders and suppliers to collaborate and co-create appropriate and meaningful contract documents driving superior outcomes for all parties.Develops strategic supplier relationships to deliver value improvements for the business. Influences senior stakeholders regarding complex matters impacting strategic supplier relationships to drive outcomes required for value creation.Leads the identification of risk, interconnectivities between different risks and identification of new risk mitigation measures. Identifies major supply chain risks and takes appropriate remedial action in a timely manner through organisational channels in instances of non-compliance.Makes effective decisions on relevant global issues related to own area of expertise.
