We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to join BP Supply, Trading & Shipping. This role will be crucial in demonstrating data to drive informed commercial decisions, ensuring data quality, and contributing to our data strategy and governance initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support commercial objectives.
  • Execute data cleansing and transformation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Integrate data from various sources, applying robust Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain data management practices to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Manipulate large datasets to extract relevant information and support analytical requirements.
  • Proactively identify and source new data opportunities to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of BP's data strategy and governance frameworks.
  • Create compelling data visualizations and interpret complex data findings for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate effectively in group problem-solving sessions to address data-related challenges.
  • Adhere to digital security protocols and best practices in all data handling activities.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of various analytical techniques.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to translate data insights into business value.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex data clearly.
  • Proficiency in data cleansing and transformation tools and methodologies.
  • Strong data domain knowledge relevant to the energy sector (preferred).
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles and best practices.
  • Advanced skills in data manipulation using relevant software (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Ability to effectively source and evaluate new data opportunities.
  • Familiarity with data strategy and governance concepts.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools and interpreting complex data outputs.
  • Awareness of digital security principles and data privacy regulations.
  • Strong collaborative and group problem-solving abilities.
