About the Role: This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership. Castrol is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Global Internal Communications to lead the design and delivery of a compelling global communications strategy. In this highly visible role, you will ensure that employees across all markets, functions, and environments are informed, engaged, and aligned with Castrol’s strategy, transformation journey, and purpose. From Day 1 of separation and throughout the transition to a standalone organisation, you will play a critical role in connecting people to business priorities and enabling organisational success. You will work closely with senior leaders, including the Castrol Leadership Team, to shape messaging, support key enterprise initiatives, and create impactful communications that resonate across a global workforce.

What You’ll Do:

  • Global Communications Strategy - Design and deliver a global internal communications strategy aligned to business priorities and transformation goals. Develop strong, clear narratives that enable employees to understand strategy, performance, and change. Tailor enterprise messages to diverse regional audiences while maintaining consistency.
  • Employee Engagement & Campaigns - Lead global “license to operate” internal campaigns (e.g. safety, cyber, compliance), ensuring critical business messaging is clearly understood and actioned. Drive engagement across office, plant, R&D, supply chain, and frontline teams globally. Establish and track metrics and insights to continuously improve effectiveness.
  • Leadership Communications & Events - Partner with senior leaders to deliver executive communications, including messaging frameworks, presentations and scripts, town halls and leadership roadshows. Lead the planning and delivery of high-impact HQ events, ensuring strong engagement and execution.
  • Digital Channels & Content - Act as a digital communications expert, optimising internal platforms (e.g. intranet, Viva Engage, Teams). Oversee development of high-quality, accessible multimedia content. Enhance user experience and reach through data-led improvements.
  • Change & Transformation Communications - Support major transformation initiatives with clear communication roadmaps and narratives. Identify and mitigate communication risks associated with change. Enable employee adoption and engagement throughout transition phases.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Build strong partnerships with the Castrol Leadership Team, global and regional communications teams, P&C and functional partners. Provide critical communications counsel across the organisation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience - Extensive experience in internal communications, ideally in a global, matrixed organisation. Proven ability to develop and deliver high-impact communication strategies. Strong background in leadership communications, change and transformation communications, and large-scale employee engagement initiatives.
  • Skills & Capabilities - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex messages. Strong digital communication expertise, including internal platforms and content systems. Data-driven attitude with ability to use insights to enhance communication impact. Excellent partner management, including influencing senior leaders. Creative, strategic problem solver with strong execution capability.
  • Desirable - Experience within automotive, lubricants, manufacturing, or technical environments. Exposure to crisis or reactive communications. Understanding of diverse workforce segmentation (frontline, plant, hybrid, etc.). Ability to work with data insights to enhance communication impact. Experience using AI and digital tools in communications.
