The Senior Well Site Leader (SWSL) has a key role in leading safety, people, and performance in our offshore operations. The SWSL will be a part of the team that works with the BP Well Superintendent for Drilling and Completion Operations. This is an offshore role that works in a team sufficiently sized to ensure that we can put our family first when required.
Key accountabilities:- The BP Wellsite Leader is a role model for BP values and behaviours.
- Foster and maintain a safety culture that allows others to speak up, stop-the-job, identify hazards, and lead change.
- Demonstrate BP values and behaviours to promote personal and process safety and continuous risk reduction.
- Establish trust with crews through communication and mentorship.
- Verify that well control procedures are understood and implemented.
- Assess the performance of the enduring risk barriers through Self-Verification (SV) and Oversight (OS).
- Verify that the well operations are performed safely, in compliance with the applicable regulations, and conform to BP Requirements.
- Monitor and encourage performance, collate lessons learned, and look for opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Understand risk and verify control measures are reviewed, discussed, and in place.
- Record daily time summary details in OpenWells reporting and maintain oversight and control of costs.
- Promote timely reporting of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) incidents.
Bachelors degree in STEM subject or similar relevant experience. Prior industry-specific knowledge or leadership experience preferable.
