Company vehicle. Responsibilities: Live on-site in a Boys Town Family Home and provide direct care for 6-8 at-risk youth in a family-style environment. Provide emotional support using praise, positive feedback, affection, and empathy to build self-confidence and respect. Use rational problem-solving techniques to teach youth critical thinking, assist with behavioral problems, counsel on personal issues, and provide crisis intervention. Plan and participate in educational and entertaining activities for individuals and families. Teach parenting, family, and relationship skills to youth, guardians, and caretakers to foster family engagement. Maintain contact with internal and external agencies regarding youth behaviors and progress. Prepare written records related to household budgeting, youth progress, incidents, behaviors, and medical needs. Model Boys Town values and ethical behaviors and support participation in religious activities. Supervise and support the development of Assistant Family-Teachers. Manage daily household operations, assist with transportation, and household upkeep. Provides safe and effective services: Adhere to safety and boundaries policies. Attend safety and abuse risk management training. Follow procedures for high-risk activities and supervision. Report suspicious behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. Required Qualifications: Be at least 21 years old. High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. Valid driverβs license with a good record and pass MVR check. Willingness to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pass a thorough background check and reference verification. Attend a 2-week paid training in Omaha, Nebraska.
