Job Title: Assistant Manager

Reporting To: Shop Manager

Role Purpose And Key Responsibilities
Role Purpose
You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager. Your duties will include operating and running the shop, managing the shop team, opening and closing the business, and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the day while accepting and paying out bets and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Shop Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
- In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead from the front in managing the shop and the shop team, including being responsible for:
- Opening and closing the shop
- Managing and guiding the shop team
- Implementing cash management procedures
- Managing and utilizing the company Time and Attendance system, ensuring adherence by the shop team
- Setting standards of shop presentation through leading by example
- Encouraging colleagues to share ideas for improvement and best practice
- Maintaining focus on shop results and identifying opportunities for high‑standard performance
- Providing outstanding customer experience for all customers
- Educating and guiding the team to deliver excellent customer service
- Accepting bets per procedure, accurately taking and processing customer bets through multiple channels, including betting terminals, in‑shop transactions, and the EPOS system
- Acting as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey
- Ensuring the shop adheres to all operational procedures, including cash management and security procedures
- Adhering to Social Responsibility duties

Desirable Skills And Experience
- 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience
- Industry experience is welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided to expand knowledge base on all things sports and betting related
