The Employment group are looking for a talented Solicitor with 7+ years PQE to join them as they continue to expand their business to an impressive range of clients including many blue-chip organisations. Boyes Turner’s Employment team is ranked in Tier 1 by Legal 500. Its partners are recognised as experts in their field. The Group is innovative and seeking to find ways of developing its offering and services to clients harnessing all modern technologies.

Experience/Attributes required:

  • Have a broad understanding of the legal principles involved and experience in all aspects of employment law.
  • Be experienced in Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal litigation.
  • Be experienced in providing employment law support to corporate transactions including the conduct of due diligence exercises, the application of TUPE, and advising on warranties and indemnities in sale documentation.
  • Possess excellent drafting skills, legal analysis, verbal & written communication skills and employment law knowledge.
  • An ability and willingness to complete marketing and business development activities is essential.
  • Apply the law with a degree of commerciality and be prepared to give your viewpoint to clients.
  • Experience of training seminars and workshop programmes for employers will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work relatively unsupervised on important, high profile cases and for clients.
  • Assist with or be responsible for leading and managing teams/group and supervision and development of junior members of staff.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with clients.
  • Promote the team’s services and identify opportunities to sell these and training products.
  • Keep up to date with current literature, publications and circulars and bring to the attention of other members of your team relevant news and developments.
  • Ensure file management, and administration are kept up to date.
  • Work effectively on your own and in a team.
  • Work in excess of normal working hours where it proves necessary, in the interests of the Firm or those of our clients.

Work type:

  • HR Support for employer clients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Guiding clients through disciplinary and other internal proceedings.
  • TUPE issues in transactional work (including due diligence) and on outsourcing.
  • Employment termination, including compromise and other settlement agreements, as well as taxation implications and avoidance.
  • Litigation unfair and wrongful dismissal claims & sex, race and disability discrimination claims.
  • Training seminars and workshop programmes for employer clients.
  • Opportunity to gain experience of immigration and data protection issues.
  • Advocacy before the employment tribunals and courts.
