This is an exciting opportunity to join our supportive and hard working Development & House Building Team based in Reading. We are looking for a Property Development Solicitor to assist fee earners on transactional matters and work collaboratively with the team on a variety of development-related transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting fee earners with drafting option agreements, conditional contracts, transfers and other transactional documents.
- Undertaking due diligence and preparing reports.
- Assisting with acquisitions and disposals of development land, planning and construction matters.
- Supporting secured acquisition and development finance transactions.
- Learning about and contributing to processes and documents for plot sales.
- Identifying risks and concerns and proposing practical and commercial solutions.
- Communicating with team members, clients, and third parties involved in transactions.
- Developing knowledge of the planning system and its implications for development transactions.
- Participating in business development activities and building relationships within the development community.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Some experience and an interest in development transactions is required.
- Strong drafting skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to break down complex tasks into manageable components.
- Enthusiasm to learn, ask questions, and share opinions.
- A practical and commercial mindset, with resourcefulness and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to engage in marketing and business development activities.
Flexible working is available; however, regular attendance at our Reading office (at least three days a week) is expected.
