This is a great opportunity for a Paralegal to join a forward-thinking, innovative, and friendly team based in Reading. Reporting into the Family Partner you will be responsible for supporting the growing team with family law matters. The ideal candidate will be passionate about family law with a key eye for detail and excellent organisation and communication skills.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience working as a paralegal or in a legal support role
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A passion for Family Law and an understanding of working in a legal environment
- The ability to work independently and as part of the team, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach
- Be a collaborative team member with the ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people
- Be comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work; have an appreciation of the needs and constraints of others in the team; and be commercially aware
- Strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clientsβ needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with first-class interpersonal skills
- The ability to support BD activities to help the team generate growth.
- Proficiency within MS Office and Outlook

Work type
- Supporting the wider team with a varied caseload of family law matters
- Coordinating and attending client meetings, court hearings and conferences with experts
- Handling initial enquiries from clients
- Dealing with correspondence and documents, including drafting court forms
- Organising and maintaining up-to-date systems to ensure effective document management
- Preparing court bundles
- Administering files, to include opening and closing of files on case management system and their day to day maintenance
- Ensuring compliance with file management policies and Lexcel
- Supporting the business development activities of the team, including writing articles and blogs
- General administrative tasks on files
- Assisting with the financial management of clients, to include supporting billing functions
