This is a great opportunity for a Solicitor/Associate or Legal Executive to join our forward-thinking, innovative and friendly team based in Reading. Reporting into the Commercial Property Partner you will be responsible for a number of commercial property matters. The overall team offers a full range of property services for a variety of clients across not only the Thames Valley and South East but nationally and internationally. The overall group advise on general commercial property transactions, development land and house building, secured lending, planning, construction and residential conveyancing. The team also supports the Firm’s Corporate team. Key Responsibilities
- Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposal
- New leases and lease renewals
- Portfolio management for occupiers and landlords
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases and ancillary documents
Skills and Experience Required
- 1-4 years PQE experience or equivalent
- Experience within acquisition & disposal of freehold and leasehold commercial property
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases and ancillary documents
- Managing properties such as licences to assign, underlet or carry out alterations and drafting and negotiating contracts and transfers
- Securing lending
- The ability to work independently, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach
- Be a collaborative team member with the ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people
- Be comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work; have an appreciation of fee earner needs and constraints; and be commercially aware
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Carry out BD activities to generate growth
- Possess first-class communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Strong academic achievement
- Proficiency within MS Office and Outlook

The Commercial Property Team works closely with the other teams within our wider Boyes Turner Real Estate team which is about 35 strong and includes dedicated teams dealing with land development, residential conveyancing, constructions, planning and property dispute resolution. We aim to distinguish ourselves by providing an exceptional level of client service offering real advice and do not sit on the fence. You will need to demonstrate that you are keen to build your own network and will be able to develop strong working relationships with clients, referrers and other members of the business community.
