Boyden has been retained to appoint a UK-based Business Development Manager for a privately owned engineering business operating within the sealing industry. The organisation develops bespoke and highly engineered solutions for industrial clients globally.
The Role
The successful candidate will enhance existing resources and collaborate with regional and corporate units across customer service, engineering and production to align and grow regional sales, while recommending and executing strategies to drive top‑line growth with new and existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Prospects for and identifies new opportunities for profitable sealing product solutions within the UK and European territories, focusing on energy OEM target customers.
- Recommend and advise, build, and maintain an opportunity pipeline with guidance from both local and corporate leadership.
- Communicate and engage with global account managers to ensure local strategic growth objectives are properly aligned with headquarters.
- Serve as primary liaison between the customer and all functional departments to ensure delivery of the highest quality service.
- Actively manage customer expectations and take action to ensure customer satisfaction, leading to enhanced business relationships and loyalty.
- Serve as a technical partner and solutions provider to customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Existing sales relationships with current or prospective customers.
- Background in elastomeric and/or plastic seals, preferably in energy or infrastructure within a consultative technical sales environment.
- Demonstrated success in selling to UK and European clients.
- Able to work well in a diverse multi‑functional team, demonstrating a collaborative approach to exceed customer expectations.
- Able to make decisions consistent with business vision.
