Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Machining Centers to produce parts to customer specifications.
- Load and run CNC programs.
- Deburr parts and clean as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC Machining Centers (e.g., fill way oil).
- Use band saws and simple tools such as hex wrenches, screwdrivers, and soft hammers.
- Change dull tooling and adjust machine offsets.
- Check part dimensions using micrometers, gage pins, vernier calipers, drop indicators, comparators, thread gauges, and other precision tools; record measurements as necessary on the part traveler.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications:
- Location: Lancaster, PA
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. Trade school or apprenticeship preferred, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a machine operator.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers verbally and in writing.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate machine offsets using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Understanding of geometry and the ability to calculate angles.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and complex fixturing problems, and to use common sense when using equipment and making decisions.
Physical Demands:
- Regular talking or hearing; frequently standing, walking, and using hands; occasionally sitting; ability to stand for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and up to 70 pounds with assistance; vision requirements including close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; occasional vibration; usually moderate noise level.
