The Maintenance Technician is a member of Boyd Allenton’s Maintenance team. Our business is quickly growing, and great team members are the foundation for our success. In a nutshell, our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for asset maintenance and preservation. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in electrical and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repair. Ability to work as a team and good communication skills are key components for success in this role.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical system, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
- May assign, instruct, and lay out work for Maintenance Technicians of lower classifications.
- May troubleshoot and re-program or program and edit programmable logic controllers (Allen-Bradley).
- Evaluate and troubleshoot PLCs.
- Observe all Boyd safety and OSHA guidelines and procedures.
- Support and follow the QMS requirements.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of various trades, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair.
- Knowledge of PLCs.
- Basic reasoning skills and language skills.
- Ability to read, complete, and analyze general business and shop paperwork.
- Can effectively present information and respond to questions/requests from managers, employees, and customers.
- Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and communicate with employees professionally at all times.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on the company quality standards at all times.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and decision-making skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
- Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch tools, equipment, and/or controls.
- Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
