An established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support delivery across two infrastructure projects in the West of Scotland. This role will involve overseeing setting out, quality control, and engineering support on key pipeline and structural works, working closely with the site team to ensure safe and efficient delivery. The successful candidate will also mentor and support a junior engineer on site, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership as well as hands-on engineering responsibilities.
The Role
- Setting Out & Site Engineering
- Full responsibility for setting out duties across civil infrastructure works
- Support delivery of pipeline installation and associated works
- Assist with structural elements relating to a new crossing structure
- Quality & Documentation
- Maintain accurate site records and as-built information
- Ensure works are carried out in line with specifications and drawings
- Monitor quality control processes and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Team Support
- Work closely with an Assistant Engineer on site
- Provide guidance and mentorship to support their development
Working Arrangements
- Site hours typically 7:30am – 5:00pm, with potential for extended hours depending on programme requirements
- Contract duration expected to run until approximately late May
- Potential for further opportunities depending on workload following completion of these projects
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Senior Engineer or experienced Site Engineer on civil engineering projects
- Strong setting out capability and knowledge of civil infrastructure works
- Experience maintaining site records and quality documentation
- Good communication skills and ability to support junior staff
