Boyd Legal is a Scottish law firm with offices in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy, providing Conveyancing, Commercial, Private Client, Trusts and Equity Release legal services to clients across the country. We are looking for a professional, organised and client‑focused individual to join our Equity Release team in Edinburgh. This is a key role combining reception duties with administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our office and the efficient progression of Equity Release transactions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Front of House
- Welcoming clients and visitors and ensuring a professional first impression
- Managing the main reception line, directing calls or taking accurate messages
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail, including DX collections and Royal Mail franking
- Maintaining reception and stationery supplies
- Managing the Reception inbox, forwarding or directing emails appropriately
- Legal Administration
- Onboarding new clients and updating internal systems
- Preparing welcome letters and requesting Amiqus ID verification
- Checking Registers of Scotland to identify the correct Property Register
- Ordering title deeds and managing document scanning and filing
- Supporting the Equity Release team with a range of administrative tasks
- Additional Support (as required)
- Making outbound client calls for introductions, updates and meeting bookings
- Preparing documents for client meetings
- Ordering reports, drafting discharges and sending documents to lenders’ solicitors
- Submitting advance notices
- Preparing fee notes, final statements and finance postings
- Issuing completion documents and client feedback requests
- Sending title sheets and any sasine deeds to clients
What You’ll Bring
- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a professional services environment
- A confident, friendly and professional manner — both in person and on the phone
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- A proactive, team‑focused approach
- Desirable: experience in a legal environment (particularly conveyancing or Equity Release), familiarity with Amiqus, or knowledge of Registers of Scotland processes.
