Job Description

Job Title: CNC Setter (Milling 3axis + 5axis) Responsible to: Production Manager The post holder will be responsible for the following duties: Set up and operate 3 and/or 5 axis CNC Milling machines using set up sheets and NC program data within allocated time frames. Select, build, and install tooling/hardware that is required for the machining process. Be proactive in identifying and solving issues that may arise during setups and production. Perform routine daily factory and machine maintenance tasks.

Comply with all BPE housekeeping, 5S, health and safety, quality standards/legislation and contribute towards making improvements. Finish parts post machining before they proceed to final fettling/ treatments/ dispatch. Ensure the engineering databases are kept up to date with the latest revision of electronic data including NC programs and other essential information. Work under minimal supervision and on own initiative. Carry out and participate in relevant training as required.

Must be flexible to meet company demands throughout the year including working additional hours Any other reasonable duties as required by the Management team. Job Specification Essential Criteria: Minimum 3 years proven practical experience in a 3axis/5axis setting role within a tool room / CNC machine shop environment. Be able to demonstrate complete understanding of all aspects of setting and operation of CNC milling machines.

Demonstrate clear understanding of engineering document interpretation and use of precision measuring equipment Ability to react to and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment. Demonstrate proactive approach to identifying and solving machining related problems.

Desirable

Criteria: Ability to demonstrate a full working understanding of Heidenhain ) CNC control) including the ability to competently console program from engineering drawings. Have good working knowledge of a variety of different jigging/fixturing/machining methods associated with machining. Knowledge of CAM software.
