Job Description
Health Care Assistant position at Boyatt Wood Surgery, Eastleigh Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to nurses and GP’s as part of the clinical team.
- Perform venepuncture and administer injections/vaccines under a PSD (B12, pneumonia, shingles, flu & COVID).
- Remove sutures, staples, clips and conduct stitch removal.
- Carry out ECG and Urinalysis.
- Assist in NHS Health Checks and Annual Reviews (hypertension or diabetic).
- Follow agreed clinical protocols and refer to GP as required.
- Check and maintain GP and nurse rooms – stocking, rotating items and general tidiness.
- Check emergency equipment and fridge temperature.
- Participate in administrative systems and maintain accurate records.
- Advise senior staff of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.
- Attend required training and participate in nurse, clinical and practice meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Health Care Assistant.
- Previous experience working in a GP practice.
