The Company: For 13 years we have been offering our famous EAT.DRINK.PLAY experience with unrivalled street food, bars, shops and entertainment all under one roof. In 2011 we created the world’s first pop-up dining and shopping destination in the heart of Shoreditch before opening venues in other iconic locations in Croydon, Wembley and in 2024 we opened in Liverpool and Camden. We are growing quickly and we have a brand new leisure concept coming to BOXPARK Croydon...PLAYBOX! This is a competitive socialising platform which includes electric shuffle, interactive darts, arcades and even its own karaoke rooms!
The Role: We are looking for a Playbox Manager with a background in competitive socialising to lead a small team to activate the leisure and entertainment offerings for BOXPARK. You will manage a team of supervisors, bar and floor staff to drive standards and the guest experience. You will take full accountability and ownership of the sales, guest experience and financial results of PLAYBOX Croydon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee every stage of the guest journey from the booking process to time spent within the space, ensuring the guests have a great experience at every step.
- Work within the company budgets relating to drink sales, labour & consumables.
- Ensure the standard of service and guest experience is being delivered by the whole team.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
- Manage all aspects of the gaming service within the premises to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
- Work closely with stakeholders within BOXPARK such as the marketing team on promotional strategies to increase revenue and the Head of Events and the sales team on strategies to increase corporate sales within the unit.
- Troubleshoot and maintain the equipment, ensuring issues are logged and actioned swiftly to minimise disruption.
- Knowledge of local regulations related to food safety, hygiene, and general health and safety practices.
The ideal Candidate for this role will:
- Have an in-depth knowledge of leisure offerings from a competitive socialising background.
- Have a proven track record of managing teams in a hospitality environment.
- Be confident, articulate and presentable.
- Be well trained with a good understanding of H&S and due diligence.
- Be honest, reliable and hard-working.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have strong motivational and people skills and be able to build good working relationships with work colleagues.
- Be flexible and able to commit to hours that include daytime, evenings and weekends.
