Someone who thrives in the rhythm of a busy neighbourhood venue, enjoys building relationships with regular guests, and takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming experience from the moment the doors open. This is a role for someone who loves being on the floor, leading from the front and setting the tone for both guests and team alike. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to help shape the culture, standards and day-to-day experience of our venue, while playing a key role in developing the people around you.
As Assistant General Manager, you’ll:
- Work alongside the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and confidently step into their role when needed.
- Be a visible and inspiring presence on the floor, creating memorable experiences for guests and supporting the team through every service.
- Build genuine relationships with our local community and regular guests, ensuring every visit feels personal and welcoming.
- Coach, develop and motivate a small team, helping them grow in confidence, knowledge and hospitality skills.
- Bring energy, positivity and attention to detail to every aspect of the guest experience.
- Help host private events and celebrations, treating every occasion as if you were welcoming guests into your own home.
- Contribute ideas that continually elevate the venue, team culture and overall guest journey.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Lead service with confidence, warmth and professionalism.
- Drive exceptional standards of hospitality, presentation and guest care.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of the team.
- Take ownership of key operational responsibilities.
- Ensure the venue consistently reflects the quality, care and attention to detail that define our brand.
- Work closely with the General Manager and wider business to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
What You’ll Bring:
- Previous experience as a manager within a quality-led hospitality environment.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, people and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Natural leadership skills and the ability to inspire, coach and develop a team.
- Strong commercial awareness alongside a guest-first mindset.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering consistently high standards.
- Confidence working in a busy service environment, balancing multiple priorities while remaining calm and solutions-focused.
- A hands-on approach, positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for being part of an independent hospitality business.
Most importantly, you’ll care deeply about people. Whether it’s a regular guest grabbing their morning coffee, a team member developing their confidence, or a private event celebrating a special occasion, you’ll take pride in making every experience feel considered, personal and memorable.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary package based on your experience.
- A respectful, tight-knit team culture where your voice and input matter.
- A chance to grow with a respected independent hospitality group that champions creativity and quality.
