We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in a breakfast and brunch-focused environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves food, enjoys learning on the job, and wants to build strong foundations in a supportive, fast-paced kitchen.
Our venue currently operates8am–6pm, Monday to Sunday, expanding to include evening service from late February, offering variety alongside a structure that supports work–life balance.
Situated on Kendal Street in the heart of Marylebone, Boxcar Bread & Wine is a welcoming neighbourhood spot known for artisanal food, fresh seasonal produce, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. We take pride in serving beautifully prepared dishes that celebrate simplicity, flavour, and quality.
Your Key Responsibilities:

Food preparation & cooking: Supporting the Head Chef and wider team with prep and service, ensuring every dish meets our quality standards.

Section ownership: Keeping your section organised, clean, and service-ready at all times.

Stock & waste control: Helping manage stock levels, ensuring freshness and minimising waste.

Kitchen teamwork: Communicating clearly with the team to ensure smooth, efficient service.

Menu knowledge: Learning our dishes inside and out so you understand what goes on every plate.

Equipment care: Using and maintaining kitchen equipment responsibly.
