The role will coordinate financial and operational activities for the Research Development department, providing essential administrative support for externally funded research grants, online learning, and engagement. The role will provide a professional and effective delivery of research grant and online learning finances, ensuring optimal compliance with funding and partner requirements. They will help organise key development and engagement activities, such as research workshops and study days, and support more generally with internal and external dissemination of departmental objectives and achievements.
What you’ll do
- Support the management of cost recovery from external partners for research and online learning activities (raising purchase orders and invoicing, etc).
- Manage financial aspects of internal research development and online learning budgets (processing payments, claims and expenses, etc).
- Support the development of systems for optimal financial and operational governance of research grants and online learning activities.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with external contacts nationally and internationally, especially at other cultural and heritage organisations.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in a research or educational support function, which included financial and/or operational responsibilities.
- Demonstrable understanding of research finance, especially as it pertains to UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) or similar funders.
- Experience with budget and project management, whether in a supporting or lead role.
- Experience organising events, whether in a supporting or lead role.
- Sound knowledge of the research funding landscape.
