We Are Parable are looking for a Project Manager to support the delivery for the 2026 iteration of Momentum, their talent development programme supporting Black British filmmakers and content creators. This is a part-time role, requiring three days' work per week, running from March 2026 to March 2027.
About We Are Parable
We Are Parable is a multi award-winning company that provides audiences with opportunities to experience Black Cinema and television in culturally relevant, memorable, and unique ways. They have been dedicated to providing a platform to Black films and their creators through their work in exhibition and the production of mentorship opportunities. Founded in 2013 by Teanne and Anthony Andrews, We Are Parable have constantly focused on one philosophy: Experience Over Everything. The experience of the audience has remained paramount to everything they do, from film screenings to full scale cinematic experiences. They have worked extensively with some of the biggest studios and partners in the industry from Netflix, Warner Brothers, Universal and Sony, in addition to partnerships with national broadcasters such as Channel 4, ITV and BBC.
About Momentum
Momentum is a programme by We Are Parable, supported by Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television UK, designed to support Black British filmmakers and content creators with mentoring, mental health support and access to industry professionals. Momentum, which is funded by 4Skills, Channel 4's nationwide training and development programme, has worked with over 140 Black British creatives from around the UK since its inception in 2020, offering them a six-month development programme that includes mentoring from leading film and television executives, mental health wellbeing workshops, access to industry experts and the opportunity to pitch to commissioners. This year's programme will run from Spring 2026 until February 2027 and will welcome another 30 filmmakers and content creators.
Role and responsibilities
- Lead on the planning and delivery of all Momentum events, including regional meetāups, masterclasses, fireside conversations, wellbeing sessions and end of year showcase.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Momentum stakeholders, including the current filmmaker cohort, alumni, venue partners, event teams, and additional collaborators.
- Manage the Momentum Project Coordinator, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and delivery expectations.
- Monitor and track the progress of both current Momentum filmmakers and Momentum Alumni.
- Manage effective administrative systems to record, monitor and report the entire project.
- Manage the beginning and endāofāprogramme survey process and produce a comprehensive final report for all project stakeholders and We Are Parable coāfounders.
- Collaborate closely with the We Are Parable Marketing Manager and project stakeholders to align on promotional timelines, campaign milestones, and key communications.
- Work with partners at Channel 4, Sony Pictures UK, and other industry contacts to develop and deliver a regular Momentum Alumni newsletter.
- Contribute creative and strategic ideas to enhance Momentum's visibility, engagement, and longāterm impact.
- Coordinate the assignment of Momentum mentors to filmmakers, oversee all related communications, and ensure timely followāup on queries.
- Manage any concerns that arise relating to the mentors who onboard the project.
- Proofread all PR communications and marketing materials including social media posts, website page and Momentum newsletter.
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the project is within agreed budget.
- Lead the roll of the UK wide application process, recruit freelance external readers to support with the application and shortlisting.
- Meet with the company directors on a weekly basis, attend weekly team/relevant meetings related to the project.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent written English and strong grammatical accuracy.
- Outstanding communication, administration, timeāmanagement, and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience working in the film sector (desirable).
- Confidence in saving, organising, and managing digital files and folders.
- Experience of managing a team.
- The ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with key digital tools, including Google Drive, Google Sheets/Excel, Mailchimp, Zoom, Slack and Canva.
Experience
- A minimum of five years in a project management role is essential.
- Experience of working on professional development or educational programmes is desirable.
- Experience of line managing a team is essential.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships is desirable.
- Previous experience working in the film/TV industry is desirable.
We Are Parable offer a flexible work environment, with remote working and access to a shared working space in London on Mondays. Core working hours are 10am to 6pm with some late hours.
