They are seeking someone with proven experience and a successful track record of leading commercial development in an organisation with a multi-faceted offering. Phoenix aims to grow its Food and Beverage operation into a highly popular and profitable business with turnover exceeding £1M by the end of 2027/28.
As a member of Phoenix’s senior management team, the Commercial Development Manager is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue expansion for Phoenix’s commercial business activities – Café Bar, F&B-led events, venue hire, and conferencing. The role focuses on market analysis, business development, commercial strategy, strong team engagement, and relationship management to increase profitability and support long-term business objectives. This is a new role within the organisation, and as Phoenix’s lead for commercial development, you will report quarterly to the Board of Trustees on progress in all matters related to the organisation’s commercial business.
Role responsibilities:
- Drive business growth by identifying new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and markets, with a focus on F&B business, sponsorship, hires, and conferencing.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand revenue streams, lead client negotiations, and prepare commercial proposals, tenders, and contracts.
- Support commercial strategy through market analysis, competitor research, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams across programme, marketing, operations, and finance.
- Monitor financial performance, prepare forecasts and budgets, and ensure commercial agreements deliver profitability and value.
- Oversee contracts and projects to ensure successful delivery, legal compliance, and alignment with organisational objectives.
