Due to further expansion, this growing business who specialise in the repair of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps and gearboxes is seeking an experienced Conventional Turner/Machinist.
You will be responsible for:
- Conventional turning and milling using manual machinery.
- Taking pumps, fans, and gearboxes, repairing them and putting them back together.
- The use of conventional machines and other machines to manufacture new parts.
- Working on small batch parts and taking responsibility for measuring worn or broken parts.
- Manual borer work.
- Producing new parts taking into consideration bearing tolerances and machine threats.
- General bench fitting duties.
- On call work one in four.
- General repair of rotating machines, electric motors, pumps and gearboxes.
To apply you will be:
- An experienced manual/conventional machinist/turner (NOT CNC).
- General mechanical fitter experience.
- Must be available to be on call one week a month which will involve working nights (4.30 pm to 1 am) which will give you time and a third pay and double time pay for weekends and working after 1 am.
- Overtime available subject to workload.
- Experience of repairing rotating machines, electric motors, pumps & gearboxes would be ideal.
- Sound Engineering knowledge and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility, as overtime required often at short notice.
