This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced fire safety professional to take ownership of fire safety compliance across a large, fast-paced resort environment, helping to protect guests, team members and property while influencing how fire safety is managed across the wider business.
Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, contractors and external agencies, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of fire safety compliance while supporting both day-to-day resort operations and future development projects.
As Resort Fire Safety Manager, you will provide expert advice and leadership on all aspects of fire safety across the resort.
Responsibilities
- Carry out, review and manage fire risk assessments across multiple building types.
- Ensure compliance with UK Fire Safety legislation, Building Regulations, British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
- Manage statutory inspections, fire safety audits and compliance assurance programmes.
- Oversee fire alarm systems, fire safety equipment and maintenance programmes to ensure continued legal compliance.
- Monitor fire alarm performance, investigate false alarms and identify opportunities to improve system reliability.
- Act as the key liaison with Fire & Rescue Services, insurers, enforcement authorities and other external stakeholders.
- Manage the performance and compliance of external contractors delivering fire safety services.
- Support refurbishment projects, new developments and alterations by providing specialist fire safety guidance.
- Develop, review and implement fire safety policies, procedures and best practice.
- Deliver fire safety training, emergency drills and promote a positive fire safety culture throughout the resort.
- Produce reports, provide expert advice to senior leaders and support informed operational decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Experience within a Fire Safety Management, Fire Risk or Fire Compliance role.
- Strong knowledge of UK Fire Safety legislation, Building Regulations and British Standards.
- Experience carrying out and reviewing fire risk assessments.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, operational teams and external agencies.
- Excellent communication, organisation and report writing skills.
- A practical, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to balance compliance, operational needs and commercial priorities.
- Experience managing fire safety systems, statutory compliance programmes and contractor performance.
- Experience supporting refurbishment, capital or construction projects would be advantageous.
- A recognised Fire Safety qualification or relevant professional experience.
Membership of organisations such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) would be advantageous but is not essential.
Candidates working towards professional qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience within hospitality, leisure, tourism, facilities management, healthcare, education or other complex operational environments would be highly desirable.
