The Box is looking for a freelance Communications & Sales Assistant to support during sales periods, combining on‑floor sales/operations support with daily customer communications across email and social channels. The Communications & Sales Assistant role is hands‑on and customer‑facing, ensuring the shop floor is sale‑ready, daily trading runs smoothly, and customer enquiries/orders are handled promptly and professionally.
Customer Communications (Email, Social & Messaging)
- Check and manage the info@ inbox daily, responding to customer enquiries in line with brand tone and guidance.
- Monitor and respond to Instagram DMs daily.
- Engage with WhatsApp communications for personal shopping support when appropriate.
- Escalate sensitive issues (e.g., complaints, refunds, VIP requests, stock disputes) to management promptly.
Set Up & Sales Floor Support
- Assist with floor setup ahead of sales: merchandising support, pricing, signage, and general preparation.
- Provide high‑quality customer service during sales events.
- Support floor management and day‑to‑day operational tasks during trading.
- Complete end‑of‑day (EOD) procedures and support till management, as directed.
- Support management with ad‑hoc tasks as required during peak periods.
Shipping & Order Support
- Check for DPD/online orders where required.
- Pack orders accurately and safely, prepare shipments, and drop parcels at the Post Office.
- Share tracking details with clients clearly and promptly.
- Maintain basic logs/updates so management can track what has shipped and what is pending.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales support, customer service, or shop‑floor operations.
- Confident, professional written communication, e.g. email and social messaging.
- Strong attention to detail (pricing, signage, packing accuracy, tracking details).
- Able to work calmly and efficiently during busy sales periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow management direction and brand standards.
Beneficial
- Experience posting on Instagram for a retail/brand account.
- Familiarity with personal shopping/VIP customer handling.
- Experience with till procedures and end‑of‑day routines.
