About Us

Oak Wood Nursery and Forest School opened in May 2025 and is continuing to grow. The nursery caters for children aged 3 months to 3 years within the main building, while our pre-school children enjoy Forest School experiences in our outdoor garden environment. The nursery operates under the Bows & Arrows Group, a not-for-profit charity. This means all funds are reinvested directly into our nurseries to ensure the very best outcomes for the children in our care.

The Role & Qualification

As an apprentice, you will work towards a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, supported by YMCA Training. Learning is delivered remotely, with tasks and assignments set by a dedicated tutor. Tutors will regularly visit the setting to observe and support you in the workplace. You will gain a strong understanding of child development while learning how to apply theory in practice. You will work alongside a knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience in a fun and nurturing environment.

  • Supporting children’s learning and development
  • Setting up engaging activities
  • Singing, playing, and exploring outdoors (yes, puddle-jumping included – bring your wellies)
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in young children

Working Hours & Contract

  • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Shift patterns may start at 7:45am or finish at 6:15pm
  • Shifts are planned and communicated in advance
  • Fixed-term contract: 1 year

Recruitment Process
