Overview
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to take responsibility for the Human Resources function across Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort. This is the first time in over 13 years that this key role has become available. We are currently undertaking an exciting project to enhance our learning and development programmes and improve our onboarding processes. This is a pivotal moment to influence and shape the future of Bowood by embedding our core values throughout the business and ensuring alignment across the wider Estate and Resort.
Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, Wiltshire
Contract: Permanent, five days per week (35 to 40 hours per week, to be agreed)
Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment and retention initiatives to attract and retain talented individuals and enhance overall business performance
- Develop consistent appraisal and learning and development frameworks, supporting Heads of Department to ensure capability and progression across all teams
- Oversee HR operations including onboarding, performance management, starters and leavers
- Review and enhance HR policies, procedures and documentation in line with CIPD standards
About You
We are looking for someone with proven experience in HR, ideally within the hospitality or leisure industry. You will be a strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach, strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. This is an on-site role, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with a range of departments.
Experience with HR systems such as Planday and learning platforms like Mapal Flow would be advantageous, although not essential. We also benefit from a long-term partnership with a dedicated external HR support provider, offering expert advice seven days a week.
