We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to lead the Accounts Department at Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort. Reporting to the General Manager and Finance Director, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision‑making, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all finance functions.

About You

  • Proven experience in a finance management role, ideally within hospitality, leisure, or a multi‑revenue business
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance and drive profitability
  • Experience producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and KPI reporting
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised, accurate, and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong systems skills, including accounting software and advanced Excel

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day‑to‑day management of the Accounts Department and supervise a small finance team
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Present financial performance and analysis to senior management
  • Partner with Heads of Department to manage budgets, control costs, and improve profitability
  • Oversee payroll, cash flow, banking, sales and purchase ledgers, stock control, and membership administration
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, statutory requirements, and company procedures
  • Support year‑end processes, audits, and business planning activities
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to support commercial decision‑making
