An excellent opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Bowood House & Gardens gardening team as a Seasonal Gardener. This is a six-month fixed-term contract, commencing in April 2026, working 16–24 hours per week over 2–3 days. Some flexibility in working days can be accommodated.
Reporting directly to the Head Gardener, the successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing our award-winning gardens. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high horticultural standards. While formal horticultural qualifications are not essential, applicants must demonstrate a sound practical knowledge of gardening and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Weeding and general bed maintenance
- Watering and plant care
- Staking and supporting plants
- Deadheading and seasonal pruning
- Planting and assisting with seasonal displays
- General garden maintenance duties
