Bowmill Metal Treatments is currently seeking a Skilled NDT Inspector. The ideal candidate will have a professional manner and excellent timekeeping, be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and desire to succeed. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation and NDT methods in Magnetic, Penetrant, Acid Etch Inspection and Material Evaluation. They will be capable of carrying out processing to ensure compliance with customer specifications and drawing requirements.
Requirements needed for an Experienced NDT Operative:
- Previous experience as an NDT Inspector, ideally in Magnetic and Penetrant processes to NAS410 / EN4179 standards.
- Previous experience in Acid Etch and Material Evaluation would be advantageous.
- Understanding of surface preparation and handling methods.
- Confidence operating NDT equipment and monitoring process controls.
- Experience with Aerospace acceptance criteria and product technology.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards within an NDT environment.
As an NDT Inspector, your responsibilities will include:
- Inspection of processed parts to ensure correct practice, legalities and responsibilities in respect of product and quality systems assurance.
- Raising Techniques and submitting for approval to the company level 3.
- Notifying the Customer of any significant NDT failures.
- Cleaning and maintaining NDT equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintaining accurate process records and documentation.
- Ensuring that departmental maintenance control logs are controlled and completed in line with company procedures.
- Assisting in training new NDT inspectors where required.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with regulations.
- Ensuring the Department is kept in a clean & tidy condition.
On-site parking, life insurance, and sick pay (subject to probationary period) are provided. Early finish on Friday.
Schedule: Monday to Wednesday (7.30 am – 4.30 pm), Thursday (7.30 am to 4.00 pm).
Job Type: Full-time, Temp leading to Permanent.
