Bowmill Metal Treatments are currently seeking a Skilled Electro Plater. The ideal candidate will have a professional manner and excellent timekeeping, be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and desire to succeed. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation and electro plating of Cadmium and Zinc-Nickel and capable of carrying out processing to ensure compliance to customer, specification and drawing requirements.
Requirements needed for an Experienced Electro-Plater Operative Role:
- Previous experience as an Electro-Plater, ideally working with cadmium or zinc-nickel
- Strong understanding of surface preparation and plating processes
- Confidence operating electroplating equipment and monitoring process controls
- Experience checking plating thickness and identifying defects
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards within a plating environment
As an Electro-Plater, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing metal components for plating, including cleaning, degreasing, and masking
- Operating electroplating tanks and associated power supplies
- Monitoring current, voltage, and solution temperatures throughout the plating cycle
- Checking plating thickness and quality to meet required standards
- Inspecting finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and visual inspection
- Cleaning and maintaining electroplating equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Maintaining accurate process records and documentation
- Assisting in training new electroplaters where required
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with regulations
On-site parking, life insurance, sick pay (subject to probationary period), early finish on Friday. Bowmill Metal Treatments provide a generous holiday entitlement with 25 days holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays.
