We are seeking a Regional Security Controller to work alongside our Lead Security Controller, overseeing multiple live projects within MOD, MoJ and other government frameworks in our North East & Scotland region. This is a full‑time, permanent role, ideally 40 hours over 5 days per week, based at our Rainton Bridge office.
Duties of the role
- Vetting and personnel security for B+K staff and our supply chain, monitoring compliance.
- Preparing and issuing project‑specific security documentation and managing the flowdown of information to subcontractors and supply chain.
- Operational security oversight, updating regional management on security compliance and risks, ensuring that Security Management Plans are adhered to.
- Report, investigate and manage security incidents, escalating as required.
- Supporting audits and inspections carried out by MOD or MoJ.
- Maintain accurate records of all security incidents, corrective actions and outcomes.
- Liaise daily with project teams, subcontractors, and regional management to ensure oversight of security requirements.
- Provide security briefings and training to project staff and supply chain on vetting, information handling and site‑specific obligations.
- Act as point of contact for external stakeholders (MOD, MoJ, DIO, auditors) on project security matters.
- Supply chain vetting tracker maintained and updated across all projects.
- Regional security incident log maintained and escalations reported in line with company and MOD/MoJ protocols.
Key skills + experience required
- Demonstrable experience in a security role within defence, justice or a regulated environment (Tier 1 contractor or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework, GovS007, JSP 440 and MoJ/MOD security requirements.
- Experience managing vetting processes (BPSS, CTC, SC, DV) and liaising with UKSV or third‑party vetting providers.
- Knowledge of cyber‑security flowdowns and supply chain assurance requirements (Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001).
- Proven track record of incident management, reporting and audit preparation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels.
- SC clearance (minimum), with ability to undergo DV if required.
- Membership of DISA (Defence Industry Security Association).
- Completed the full course of Security Controller training courses run by DISA.
- Membership of the Security Institute.
