Are you ready to lead a large-scale manufacturing operation with real autonomy and impact? We’re looking for a Site Operations Manager for a global manufacturing business; someone with calm confidence, strong leadership, and a strategic outlook. This is a rare opportunity to take responsibility for a major UK site, leading up to 200 people and shaping the business’s manufacturing operations. Due to internal promotion, this role is ready and waiting for a senior professional who values culture, team engagement, and continuous improvement.

In line with the rest of the SLT, it’s essential that you’re degree educated. Ideally, you’ll have a mechanical mindset and will understand the workings of machinery and equipment. We’re looking for someone who will see this as a true challenge and who does want to stay long term and continue to grow with the business.

About the role:

  • Full responsibility for plant operations to achieve overall business targets including production, maintenance, quality and health & safety.
  • You’ll lead and manage a large team, ensuring high performance, engagement and a positive work culture.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and compliance in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all foreseeable risks that are connected to the business assets.
  • Provide leadership and clear direction to ensure delivery of production or related tasks.
  • Motivate and lead the area and teams to constantly improve business performance.
  • Work alongside the engineering team to keep assets at optimum efficiency at all times.
  • Work on specific projects as directed by the UK Division Manager.
  • Manage trials, production and payroll paperwork.

About you:

  • You’ll be IOSH qualified and have proven experience as a Plant / Site Manager (or similar leadership role) in a manufacturing environment.
  • In line with the rest of the SLT, it is essential that you’re degree educated.
  • Ideally, you’ll have come up through engineering or will have had some exposure.
  • You’ll need to be cool, calm and collected, able to handle challenges and make strategic decisions under pressure.
  • Very strong leadership and people management skills, motivating, engaging and developing a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience of applying CI techniques and mindset with an excellent understanding of full supply chain.
  • Be a safety role model! Build an open working environment, actively listening and inspiring teams.
