We’ve been retained by a highly established UK textile manufacturing business to recruit their new Business Development Manager. The company is based in the Midlands, this is a hybrid role with at least 1 day per week based onsite. You’ll join a well-established, privately owned textile manufacturer supplying customers worldwide from their UK base, they have a great heritage and strong manufacturing capability. Well known for high-quality fabrics, the business is focused on growth in the technical textile space. This is a pivotal role in their growth journey which offers future opportunities for the successful person.
What You’ll Get

About You
- You will have proven success in winning business in the technical textile sector
- You’ll be focused on sales, be highly driven with the will to win
- You’ll need an understanding of manufacturing and ideally some product development, as this isn’t a ‘catalogue sell’ role
- Commercially curious, with a practical mindset for developing and extending product ranges
- As with most BDM roles, you will be self-motivated, naturally inquisitive and resilient under pressure
- We need an idea’s person for this role, someone who can offer solutions to customers and new products to the business
- Experience in an SME environment is highly preferable
About The Job
- Identify new markets, routes to market, and opportunities for sustainable revenue growth
- Develop and deliver a growth strategy across the UK and Europe initially
- Work closely with manufacturing and technical teams to turn customer needs into commercial solutions
- Advise on future product development and investment priorities
- Manage opportunities from initial discussion through to commercial supply
- Take long-term ownership of new-business growth
- UK & European travel required
