Are you an experienced Stock & Supply Chain Manager? Have you developed good practice for managing high-value and high-volume stock levels for a multi-million-pound business? Can you lead a diverse team across two continents? We’re partnering with a fast-paced and fast-moving retail supplier of textile products to find them an experienced Stock & Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for a large stock hold onsite, stock held with manufacturers/suppliers and stock on the move. This is a critical hire for the business, and they are looking for someone who can add value to their supply chain function. They are looking for "a warrior and not a peacekeeper".

About You

  • You’ll have a strong background in supply chain with knowledge across stock, warehousing, shipping, supplier relationships and leadership.
  • It is essential that you have previously worked in a business that supplies to the larger retail network to fully comprehend the demand and expectations.
  • You should be highly analytical with advanced skills using MS Excel; this is a data-driven role.
  • As well as day-to-day stock management, you will also manage key relationships with freight forwarders and hauliers, negotiating contracts annually.
  • Overseas travel will excite you – visiting factories in the Far East to understand how each works and the full cycle of placing an order through to delivery to the UK site.
  • Commerciality is key. You’ll need to understand the complications and complexities of value vs budget as well as lifecycle and SKU count.
  • A relevant degree in a subject relating to Supply Chain or International Business would be advantageous but not essential.
  • You will thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Whilst this role offers flexibility with working hours, it’s imperative that you are present onsite at least 4 days per week.

About The Role

  • Reporting to the Sourcing Director, you will join as Stock & Supply Chain Manager and will be a key member of the SLT.
  • This role is available due to an internal promotion.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing the Stock Control teams in the UK and India, ensuring that the strict parameters of the stock policies are adhered to.
  • Customer and supplier relationships are the foundation of this company’s values – it’s your job to ensure smooth availability of products globally.
  • You’ll manage warehouse operations ensuring available and safe space.
  • Working closely with suppliers to deliver an efficient stock flow.
  • You will drive continuous improvement and change across this market-leading retail supplier.
  • There will be some overseas travel. With over 30 international suppliers, part of managing those relationships will involve site visits to get to know your contacts and build firm partnerships.
