The Governing Board is seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to work in our busy kitchen, supporting the provision of the catering operation, assisting with cooking, baking, food preparation and hygiene. Bowlee Park is an OUTSTANDING school with a strong caring ethos, high expectations, hardworking children, supported by a strong team of motivated teaching and support staff. The successful candidate will have the ability to work under pressure, be extremely flexible, communicate at all levels and work as part of a successful catering team. You will carry out normal kitchen duties as part of a large team with a daily service of approximately 600 covers.
Responsibilities:
- Cooking, baking, food preparation and service to a high standard
- Ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards
- Washing up and cleaning to a high standard
- General kitchen and dining room duties
- Undertake moderate lifting duties (food deliveries/dining room furniture)
Qualifications and Training:
Ideally candidates will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, however training will be provided for the right person. Applicants are advised that by applying for this position they are not subject to any immigration controls or restrictions that prohibit them undertaking work in the UK, and that they are able to provide proof of their Right to Work in the UK if invited to attend an interview.
