The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Estimator to join this dynamic and growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing accurate, competitive, and timely tenders for a variety of commercial electrical projects. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers, ensuring all estimates reflect best practice and support the company’s strategic and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Preparation
    • Review and interpret tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment.
    • Identify risks and value-engineering opportunities within the tender process.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Management
    • Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Evaluate pricing and ensure alignment with project scope and timelines.
    • Maintain strong supplier relationships to secure best-value procurement.
  • Cost Analysis & Budgeting
    • Monitor real-time market rates for materials and labour.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and post-tender negotiations.
    • Assist with value engineering and project cost control measures.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
    • Liaise with project managers to ensure seamless handover of tender packages.
    • Provide regular progress reports and insights to senior leadership.
    • Contribute to ongoing development of estimation systems and processes.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven track record in electrical estimation, ideally in commercial or industrial sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and installations.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (Cypher experience advantageous).
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
