Bowland Ecology is a well‑established ecological consultancy and CIEEM’s Medium Sized Practice of the year 2025-2026. This hybrid, part‑time role (22.5 hrs per week) supports our Logistics Coordinator and serves as an experienced Office Administrator. The position requires one day per week in the Head Office, Clitheroe (Mondays), with flexible work‑from‑home hours for the rest.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with assigning jobs to staff and booking time for surveying and reporting.
- Co‑manage the Survey Calendar.
- Liaise with staff and clients about schedules.
- Arrange site access, create health and safety documents and ensure compliance.
- Work with the Technical Support Officer to organise equipment, data review and sound analysis.
- Handle incoming calls, general emails and post, responding professionally to all enquiries.
- Order equipment and stationery and maintain related systems.
- Provide HR support: manage annual leave requests, book training, update systems/databases.
- Book accommodation and hire cars.
- Ensure the company fleet complies with legislation; organise repairs/service.
- Set up and maintain project files.
- Maintain office cleanliness, health and safety and report accidents and lone‑working incidents.
- Supply basic IT support to the Ecology team.
- Manage repairs or disposal of faulty equipment.
- Help Bowland Ecology meet continuous‑improvement targets (ISO 9001 and 14001).

Ideal experience and skills:
- Experience in an administrative role (E).
- Knowledge of different ecology survey types (D).
- Experience working to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements (D).
