Are you a detail-focused finance professional looking to build your experience in a supportive and fast-paced manufacturing environment? Eclipse Magnetics Ltd and Bowers Metrology (MMG), part of the Spear & Jackson Group of Companies, are seeking an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join their Finance team based at the Atlas Site in Sheffield. Reporting to the Eclipse Magnetics Financial Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
The role involves:
- The timely processing of supplier invoices
- Coordination of payments
- Reconciliation of purchase and sales ledgers
- Resolution of queries to ensure strong working relationships with suppliers and customers
- Supporting credit control activities to ensure outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner
- Monitoring and reconciling cash receipts
- Posting journals
- Performing bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and up to date
Collaboration with colleagues across departments will be essential to support efficient processing of sales receipts and purchase payments. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail. You will be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. A willingness to learn and develop within the role is essential. Previous experience in accounts payable, credit control, or double-entry bookkeeping is desirable, as is familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
This is a full-time role, initially based five days per week on site in Sheffield. It offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a well-established manufacturing group, contributing to effective financial operations while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
