Are you a Heating Appliances Service Engineer / Service Engineer based in East England, near to either Cambridge, Peterborough, Chelmsford, Colchester or Ipswich and looking for a new and exciting challenge with an established and respected business?
Reporting directly to the Services Manager, you will work closely with our clients Service Team. Your primary responsibility will be the completion of warranty and annual service work for Gas, Electric and Solid Fuel heating appliances.
The role will include diagnosing faults and repairing appliances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
During off-peak periods, the role will also include carrying out the maintenance of appliances within dealership showrooms and completing chargeable annual servicing and repairs for customers.
Although the role will cover a pre-determined area, travel to most areas of the UK could be necessary at times, and the role could involve being away from home for up to 4 nights per week. The role comes with a fully equipped van, laptop/iPad, and mobile phone.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with heating appliances or servicing comparable equipment in the field. You will be an excellent communicator, proactive, and naturally customer-focused.
The successful candidate will be required to have and maintain the following essential training certificates to carry out the required work:
- CCN1 (Domestic Core Gas Safety)
- HTR1 (Gas Fires & Wall Heaters)
- CONGLP1 (LPG Changeover)
- CPA1 (Combustion Analysis)
- GAS SAFE requirements (OFTEC also an advantage but not essential)
The following qualifications, while NOT essential, would be a bonus:
- Part P Electrical Safety
- Electrical Safe Isolation
- HETAS Certification
- Hetas H002 (Solid fuel regulations and Standards)
- Hetas H003 (Dry Appliance Installer)
- Hetas H004 (Wet Appliance installer)
- Hetas H006 (Internal twin wall chimney system installer)
Suitable experience within the heating industry will also be considered for applicants without the essential qualifications listed above.
You MUST also have a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role.
