Overview

We are searching for a permanent Accounts Payable Administrator for a secure business located near Exeter Airport.

The role is office-based with working hours from 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Distributing purchase ledger invoices and credit notes for approval
  • Posting authorised purchase ledger invoices and credit notes to the company ERP
  • Managing the Accounts Payable shared inbox
  • Handling telephone enquiries from suppliers
  • Setting up and amending supplier accounts on the company ERP
  • Processing supplier invoices (with or without a purchase order) and stock invoices
  • Reconciling supplier accounts to supplier statements and adjusting when required
  • Preparing and posting intercompany journals
  • Periodically reviewing and clearing open purchase ledger items
  • Allocating cash payments to supplier invoices
  • Creating priority payments
  • Responding to queries from other departments via phone, e‑mail, and in‑person
  • Preparing bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with the month‑end close
  • Generating the weekly and monthly BACS and SEPA payment runs
  • Posting entries from the bank accounts including interest, transfers, and charges
  • Opening posts and distributing to relevant departments
  • Dealing with other ad‑hoc tasks as required

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills as the role involves liaising with all departments at all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as within a larger team
  • Motivated, well‑organised, and detail‑focused with a flexible approach
  • Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications

Additional Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK without company sponsorship
  • Residence within a commutable distance of Exeter Airport or junctions 29 and 30 of the M5
