About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Warehouse and Fulfilment Manager to lead operations at our new Bower Circularity Centre in Swindon. This role is perfect for a leader passionate about sustainability, operational excellence, and building teams and systems from the ground up.
You’ll oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, production, filling, returns and reuse processes. You will ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations that meet our sustainability and customer service goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including goods-in, storage, picking, packing, assembly, filling, dispatch, returns, and reusable packaging management.
- Develop and maintain capacity plans for efficient resource utilisation and production scheduling.
- Align operations with demand forecasts, collaborating closely with Supply Chain, NPD, and Production teams.
Production Management
- Lead in-house filling operations, ensuring compliance and implementing ISO 9001, ISO 22716 (Cosmetics), and BRC standards.
- Maintain batch traceability and ensure quality control, hygiene, and compliance standards.
- Manage maintenance and calibration of production machinery.
- Partner with Purchasing to ensure production schedules meet demand efficiently.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop the warehouse and production team.
- Champion Bower’s culture and values through daily leadership, onboarding, and coaching.
- Conduct performance reviews, set KPIs, and manage temporary and permanent staffing levels.
- Communicate openly and effectively with all team members and departments.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Environmental, and Employment regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and promote a culture of proactive hazard reporting.
- Maintain audit-ready operations for ISO and BRC certifications.
Customer Experience & Logistics
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring accurate and on-time deliveries.
- Implement SLAs with suppliers and report on adherence.
- Oversee stock management, including regular stock takes, returns, rejects, and reconciliation.
- Ensure efficient D2C and B2B order flows.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement lean methodologies and 6S principles across operations.
- Identify and deliver business process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Drive innovation and sustainability initiatives aligned with Bower’s mission.
Sustainability & Culture
- Lead delivery of Bower’s sustainability strategy within the warehouse.
- Embed B Corp principles and environmental best practices throughout the operation.
About You
- Proven experience (5+ years) in warehouse, logistics, or production management.
- Strong understanding of capacity and production planning.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams through change and fast growth.
- Technically minded with a strong understanding of WMS/ERP systems.
- Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching capabilities.
- Passionate about sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Digital native, technically astute, can use a wide variety of systems and has experience with Excel.
Desirable
- Knowledge of D2C ecommerce fulfilment.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 22716, or BRC certification processes.
- Experience in light manufacturing, filling, or assembly environments.
- Familiarity with lean / Six Sigma methodologies.
