Overview
A large, independent Accountancy practice is seeking an additional Personal Tax Assistant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with prior personal tax experience seeking to join a firm with flexible working and excellent benefits.
Hybrid working, flexible working, 25 days annual leave and the opportunity to buy/sell additional holiday days are all available. There is also a keen emphasis on work/ life balance and continued professional development.
There would be the opportunity to work towards professional tax qualifications with this role. ATT and CTA, fully funded study support and time off to study.
To be considered for this opportunity you do need to have gained Personal Tax experience gained in an accountancy practice and be well versed in independently processing personal tax returns.
Responsibilities
- Personal Tax Assistant Duties and Responsibilities; Processing Personal Tax returns using cloud based tax software.
- Basic tax planning services to individuals and smaller businesses
- Tax computations.
- Development of skills in preparation of self assessment income, liaison with clients and HMRC, fee quotation to billing the work, and in due course proactively offering basic tax planning ideas and solutions for private clients.
- Willingness to assist the Tax department generally, within the individuals expertise, with personal tax returns, particularly leading up to the January 31 deadline.
- Assistance with ad hoc tax related projects for clients and referrers.
- Liaising with the Tax Manager and assisting with any tax related projects for clientele.

Working Hours
Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week
