An established independent accountancy practice is seeking a Tax Assistant to join its experienced tax team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and progress your career within a supportive and flexible working environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Tax Managers and Directors, gaining exposure to a broad range of tax matters. Candidacy will only be considered if you have gained prior tax experience within an accountancy practice. This opportunity would suit a numerate individual with keen attention to detail.

Tax Assistant duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of personal tax returns (Self Assessment) for a varied client base.
  • Assisting with corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Supporting senior staff with tax compliance work across different tax areas.
  • Liaising with HMRC on routine matters, including queries and correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and working papers.
  • Assisting with basic tax planning work as experience develops.
  • Meeting deadlines and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and professional standards.
  • Providing a professional and helpful service to clients.
